Die Diskussion darüber, ob Sozialismus in einem Land möglich sei oder nicht, ist eine Phantomdebatte.
Es ist völlig ausgeschlossen, dass der Sozialismus auf einen Schlag in allen Ländern der Welt gleichzeitig siegt. In jedem realistischen Fall wird es also ein „sozialistisches Lager“ und ein „kapitalistisches Lager“ geben.
Ökonomisch heißt das, dass innerhalb des sozialistischen Lagers die Produktion selbstverwaltet einerseits nach den Bedürfnissen und andererseits nach den vorhandenen Möglichkeiten ausgerichtet werden kann. Andererseits muss das sozialistische Lager außerdem noch eine bestimmte Menge marktfähige Waren produzieren für den Austausch mit dem kapitalistischen Lager. Ich nenne das „Doppelwirtschaft“.
The debate over whether socialism is possible or not in a single country is a phantom debate. It is completely out of the question that socialism at once conquers all countries over the world at once. In every realistic case there will be a "socialist camp" and a "capitalist camp". Economically, this means that within the socialist camp, self-managed production can be geared, on the one hand, to needs and, on the other hand, to existing possibilities. On the other hand, the socialist camp must also produce a certain amount of marketable commodities for exchange with the capitalist camp. I call that a "double economy".
