I don't see the consequences of Brexit just in the economy. In a global situation in which cooperation is increasingly important, Brexit is a step backwards towards "We are a big, better nation". For years and decades, the political class and the British media mob blamed Brussels and the EU for all the home-made problems, even though every single provision and regulation that was passed in Brussels was approved by all EU governments, including the British Government. The referendum on Brexit was the result of this political irresponsibility.
I think the UK ruling class has still not digested the loss of its world domination. Britain's exit from the EU will only accelerate the marginalization of England. The centrifugal (nationalist) forces in the world continue to grow. This is not a good development.

Ich sehe die Brexit-Folgen nicht nur in der Ökonomie. Der Brexit ist in einer globalen Situation, in der es zunehmend auf Kooperation ankommt, ein Rückschritt in Richtung „Wir sind eine große, eine bessere Nation“.
Über Jahre und Jahrzehnte hinweg haben die Politische Klasse und die britische Medienmeute alle hausgemachten Probleme Brüssel und der EU in die Schuhe geschoben, obwohl jede einzelne Bestimmung und Regelung, die in Brüssel beschlossen wurde, mit Zustimmung aller EU-Regierungen, auch mit Zustimmung der britischen Regierung erfolgt ist. Die Volksabstimmung zum Brexit war das Resultat dieser politischen Verantwortungslosigkeit.
Ich denke, die herrschende Klasse in Großbritannien hat immer noch nicht den Verlust ihrer Weltgeltung verdaut. Der britische Ausstieg aus der EU wird die Marginalisierung Englands nur beschleunigen. Die zentrifugalen (nationalistischen) Kräfte in der Welt nehmen weiter zu. Das ist keine gute Entwicklung.
